Jessica & Mark 6.8.13

Wednesday

Jessica and Mark's wedding was gorgeous! Sweet elegant with a touch of rustic. The ceremony was held in our rustic field and the reception in the barn. Blush & cream, wine barrels, mason jars, hay bales, galvanized buckets, & a sweet vintage car!

Love Story Wedding

Tuesday

Everybody loves a good romantic story. There are so many of them: Snow White, Pride & Prejudice, Twilight, The Notebook, etc. Lovely fairytale dreams that come from books. How can you choose just one? This wedding style has romantic & feminine blush and cream colors but is completed with masculine dark wood. Create your own Love Story with this beautiful inspiration. Remember to use lots of candles and twinkle lights!

What you need:

-Venue-
The perfect venue for this romantic Love Story wedding would be somewhere with twinkle lights and dark wood or a beautiful garden with lights as well.
Below are some examples:
Green Villa Barn
Gorgeous dark wood beams and magical twinkle lights

Green Villa Garden
Beautiful garden with tons of flowers and lights everywhere!

-Ceremony Decor-
If your ceremony is held indoors it would be great to do a twinkle light backdrop (Which we have here at Green Villa Barn!) with candles or lanterns down the aisle. For an outdoor ceremony you could have a romantically styled gazebo or flower and jewel decorated arch with lanterns down the aisle. You can also use wine barrels with flowers to make the beginning of the aisle.

-Flowers-
Choose flower colors that are very soft and romantic. White, cream, blush with shades of dusty green if you would like, would make perfect colors for your wedding flowers. You could also add some pops of deep red and burgundy to make them more elegant. Great flower choices would include: babies breath, ranunculus, roses, hydrangeas, peonies, and lambs ear.

-Attire-
Wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses, and grooms attire. Color, fabric, and style of wedding attire is an important aspect in creating a certain feel for your wedding, that is often overlooked.

For your wedding dress: choose something flowing and romantic. Keep the modern styles at bay. The new trend of blush wedding gowns is perfect for your romantic wedding! Just remember to choose a color other than pink for your bridesmaids if you are choosing to wear a blush wedding dress.

For your bridesmaids: Chiffon is a great fabric for creating a soft look. Long or short bridesmaid dresses would both work well in shades of blush or taupe.

Grooms attire: Black or gray would work best for this style of wedding. Try some different shades of gray to find your favorite.

-Cakes-
Whether you choose a small or large cake make sure there is some form of blush color on it. Try a rich chocolate colored cake with blush flowers or a cream colored cake with blush flowers. Another great love story element to try would be to put a quote, verse, or lyric on the cake.

-Centerpieces-
Romantic looking centerpieces with candles are a must for this wedding theme. Try lanterns or dark wood crates with flowers. Need table numbers? Try a book!

-Other Decor-
Great elements to include in your "Love Story" wedding would be:

  • Candles
  • Twinkle Lights
  • Blush, Cream, & Mahogany
  • Cascading fabrics like flowing curtains or drapery
  • Wine barrels & wine barrel tables
  • Lanterns
  • Books & book pages
  • Calligraphy
  • Mantels
