Traditional Wedding Foods

  Is there such a thing as traditional wedding food? It's interesting to see the wedding trends with food changing.  It seems that everyone is doing their own thing: from the non-traditional wedding cakes to the Donut wall.  Everyone wants their wedding to be unique and different. 

There are so many new food trends in weddings we can hardly keep up, but we thought it would be fun to share with you some new trends with "the cake". 

Let's start with the cake.  The traditional 3 tiered wedding cake seems to be a thing of the past.  Some people don't really like cake all that much and if it's YOUR wedding you should have your favorite thing. Right?  What could be better than cake you ask? Ice Cream! Someone thought of that and turned it into a business. Pacific Perks! Pacific Perks has a mobile Ice Cream Sundae Bar! The possibilities are endless. How fun is that?  A food truck that specializes in Ice Cream Sundae's. Yes please!  With all the different choices for toppings, I'm sure it's a big hit!

Another fun trend standing in for the cake are DONUTS! Yes, everyone loves donuts. Have you ever met a donut you didn't like? Donuts are very popular at weddings right now. Have you ever seen a donut wall? Oh, yes they do exist! Green Villa has this amazing donut wall for rent.!  What a fun and creative way to display your dessert than with a donut wall.  Who doesn't love donuts? 

We have also seen Cinnamon Rolls!  When you serve breakfast foods at a wedding instead of dinner you don't have cake, you have cinnamon rolls! This 3 tiered cupcake stand is another fun way to display something that's not cake.  Still has the 3 tiered affect, but not with the  traditional cake.  Cinnamon rolls....yum!

Okay...this one will surprise you if the others have not!  Instead of the traditional wedding cake, how about a S'mores Bar? The campfire tradition at a wedding! Yep, its been done too.  Check out this adorable S'mores food truck. Nineteen 27 S'mores is a company out of Portland, Or. started by husband and wife team.  This yummy young catering company began with love and a passion for nostalgia. Wouldn't this be the cutest thing to have at a wedding in December or January?! What a great idea. 

I'm sure there are many more options instead of cake, but these were just a few of the new food trends we are seeing in Weddings and they keep changing. 2018-19 is all about the couple and what they like.  You don't have to have traditional desserts anymore.  Do your own thing! Be creative and have fun with it!
