2020 Wedding Trends

     As 2019 wedding season comes to a close.... here we are thinking about 2020.  Wondering what the trends are going to be? Well, we have gathered inspiration and all things wedding for the 2020 year and we are excited to share with you what is new and hot for 2020.  Everything from color pallets, flowers and centerpieces to decor trends.  So, let's get right to it.  

Color in 2020

     Lets begin with color pallets. Many times it seems like bridesmaids dresses set the color pallet for the wedding.  Last year we saw lots of blush and burgundy trending in bridesmaids dresses.  We also saw light blue and sage green, but burgundy was the most popular.  Here is the inside scoop on Pantone's top 2020 wedding color schemes:

Color #1: Mint, a pale green color, is predicted to dominate the design and fashion in 2020.  This is a gender-neutral color, soft and elegant for weddings.

Color #2 : Purist Blue, this calm and cool, ocean blue color is beautiful. This shade of blue evokes a feeling of peace and calm.

Color #3: Cassis, this combo of pink and purple. when you think of purple you think royalty, grandeur, and sophistication.  This color definitely sets the tone. It's beautiful!

Color #4: Cantaloupe. This sweet, rejuvenating color is a new one for us.  Pantone sees this as a well loved color for the summer of 2020.

Color #5: Mellow Yellow. This soft, relaxing shade of yellow evokes creativity and emotion.  This would be a great color for a summertime wedding, but strong enough color to last all year.

We still think the tried and true blues and burgundy will be a constant in the color pallets for 2020, but we always suggest picking the color that YOU, as the bride, like or are drawn to.  After all this is the one day you have been dreaming about your entire life!  So, do what you like.

 Floral Trends for 2020

We in the wedding industry are going to be seeing more and more locally grown, in season floral decor.  Grasses and dried flowers are going to make it big this year.  As well as botanicals and earthy elements such as rattan.   Hanging florals and greenery are trending as well as the ever loved Boho theme. Boho style pairs great with these florals and natural elements.  You will be seeing more Boho style with vintage details in wedding decor in 2020.   Lets take a look at some of these floral trends we are speaking of.

Decor and Centerpiece Trends

Millennials seem to be breaking traditions with wedding decor and food.  Weddings are seeming to be less traditional/ formal and more casual.  The bouquet/garter toss  and traditional cake seems to be a thing of the past.  Millennials are going with interactive experiences for their guests with things like games, photos booths, espresso bars, music and buffets. 

All of these things play a part of your big day and decor is no exception.  Some of the decor trends for 2020 include Copper or Gold accents, light boxes and neon signs as well as Boho and Macrame' elements.   Geometric shapes are adorning tables for unique centerpieces.  Moody fall and winter color palettes are coming back as well. Whatever your theme or colors of your wedding may be, candlelight and florals always make a great centerpiece!  There are so many different things you can do with centerpieces.  Be creative and have fun with it.  It doesn't have to cost a ton of money to have a beautiful centerpiece for your guests tables.
