Centerpieces

Tuesday

Do you ever go to a wedding and see the centerpieces and think, "Wow, that is beautiful" Or "Wow, I have never seen a centerpiece like that"?  Todays blog post is all about centerpieces!  We thought we would give you some ideas and inspiration for winter centerpieces for a wedding or just for your home.

When choosing a centerpiece for a wedding there are several things you need to think about.  1. Cost
2. Mood or theme
3. size
4. availability

I would say the first thing I think of is the cost.  Everyone has a budget, big or small, you have to factor it into the big picture.  Remember if you have 200-250 people that is probably around 30 centerpieces you need to buy.  So, you need to make sure that you figure the cost for each centerpiece.

Next, I would say that the availability of the centerpieces is crucial.  If you want all your centerpieces the same, are you going to be able to find 30 exactly the same?  Do you even want them all the same?  I think it is really fun to mix it up and give your guests something different to look at with each table.  Maybe they are all similar in color, but different in style. Like a gold candle holder, you can have different shapes, but they can all be a candle holder! It's also easier if you only need a couple of each variety.

Thirdly, the size is important. For two reasons: it affects the cost and also the drama or feel of the party.  If you are going with large centerpieces, it is much more dramatic and costly.  You also need to make sure your guests can see each other.  It is very difficult to make conversation or get to know the people at your table if you can't see them!  So, keep that in mind.

Last but not least important is theme! It is so fun to have a theme or feeling that you want to portray for the wedding. Centerpieces can create a mood or feeling for your reception.  Do you want your reception to feel glamorous and elegant? Do you want snowy and rustic feeling?  Or Christmasy? There are so many options!  Let me give you some examples of what I would think could be elegant or glamorous centerpiece for a Winter theme wedding reception.

Now lets look at some Rustic winter centerpieces.

Then you could go with some simple yet pretty centerpieces with lots of greenery for the winter months!

So, as you can see the centerpieces can create a feeling or mood for your reception! And the possibilities for these are endless.  Just remember to have fun, be creative and do what YOU like!!
